• Local-First Data: By default, if you are not using Cloud Sync, your references are stored entirely on your local machine and are not transmitted to our servers.
• Usage Data: We may collect anonymized diagnostic data to improve app performance and stability. This never includes the contents of your research libraries.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected data solely for the following purposes:

• Providing and maintaining the MyCiter application and synchronization services.
• Processing your subscriptions and premium features securely.
• Responding to customer support requests and fixing software bugs.
• Ensuring the security and integrity of our sync architecture.

We value your trust and maintain strict standards regarding your data:

You maintain complete ownership and control over your research data:

• Export: You can export your research library at any time in standard formats (such as BibTeX, RIS, or CSL-JSON) from the desktop application.
• Deletion: You can request the deletion of your account and sync data at any time. Once requested, your remote database records will be permanently erased.
• Opt-out: You can choose to use MyCiter entirely offline. No data will ever leave your device without Cloud Sync enabled.
